Connect Google

How to link Google Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail and Contacts to your workspace, what tting does with each permission, and how to disconnect.

What you're connecting

Google Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail and Contacts each appear as their own connector under Settings › Connectors. Connect the ones your agents need; you can add the rest later. Every connection is made with your own Google account, so an agent only sees what you could open yourself.

Gmail only reads your list of labels and creates labels. It never reads your messages and never sends mail. Google Contacts uses only your basic Google account information (name, email address and profile picture) and doesn't read your contacts.

Before you start

  • Anyone in a workspace can connect their own Google account.
  • A shared connection, where one account is used by the whole workspace, is set up by an owner or admin. Members use it automatically. If you add your own account later, your agents use yours instead.
  • A connection you made with your own account is visible only to you. Admins can't see it or remove it.

Step by step

  1. Google Docs connector screen in tting with the Add connection button
    1. Pick the product.

Open Settings › Connectors, choose the product you want, and tap Add connection (연결 추가).

  2. Choosing between My account and Workspace shared, and naming the connection
    2. Choose the type and name it.

My account, or Workspace shared if you're an owner or admin. Give the connection a name and tap Next (다음). Google's sign-in opens.

  3. 3. Pick a Google account.

Google asks which account to use. Choose one.

  4. 4. Confirm the sign-in.

Google tells you that it will share your name, email address, language preference and profile picture with tting. Tap Continue.

  5. 5. Allow the permission.

Google lists what tting is asking for in that product and asks you to allow it. Tap Allow.

  6. Connection details in tting showing the status Connected
    6. Back in tting.

A tting page confirms the sign-in and offers to open the app. Back in the app, the connection shows Connected.

The app screens are drawings of the current Android app. Some labels on these screens are shown in Korean regardless of your app language. Google's own screens follow the language of your Google account and aren't reproduced here.

What each permission is for

ProductWhat tting does with the permission
Google DriveReads the files you pick and handles the files an agent creates for you. It doesn't import files you didn't choose.
Google DocsReads, creates and edits documents.
Google SheetsReads, creates and edits spreadsheets.
Google SlidesReads, creates and edits presentations.
Google CalendarReads the list of calendars you're subscribed to. Reads, creates, edits and deletes events, and responds to invitations.
GmailReads your list of labels and creates labels. It doesn't read or send mail.
Google ContactsUses your name, email address and profile picture. It doesn't read your contacts.

Google describes the Docs, Sheets and Slides permissions as "see, edit, create, and delete". That is Google's wording for the permission, not what tting does with it: tting doesn't delete documents, spreadsheets or presentations. The only thing it deletes is a calendar event, and only when you ask.

Which actions ask first

When an agent looks something up in Google, it just does it. Creating, editing or deleting anything in Google follows the agent's approval setting. Under the default setting, Risky actions only, these run without asking. Set the agent to Always ask and each one shows a card first: Allow once, Allow for this chat, or Deny. If you choose Deny, the agent carries on without that step.

Managing a connection

  • Status. Connected, Sign in again, or Not connected. If the connection breaks, tting shows when it last checked and why.
  • Sign in again. From the connection's detail screen. The connection is kept; only the credentials are refreshed.
  • Release. Before you release a connection, tting tells you which agents and workflows will stop, or fall back to the shared connection if there is one.
  • Leaving a workspace. If you leave or are removed, your connections in that workspace are revoked.
  • From Google's side. You can also remove tting's access from your Google Account.
